This foundation course in blacksmithing will teach the basics of working hot iron at the forge with hammer and anvil, and build your technique to be able to take a class for advanced skill levels. Learn how to use the hammer and anvil surfaces to execute the essential forms of blacksmithing--twists, scrolls and—if you are up for it, perhaps even a dragon head. No prior blacksmithing experience required.
We supply the well-tooled smithing studio with your own anvil and tooling, material to forge, and an attentive instructor--and you bring the capacity to have a good time in the metal studio. You will leave with the forged pieces you have made in your day at the smithy, and a lot more knowledge about the potential of forging hot iron.
If you already have experience at the forge, this is a good workout opportunity to practice your technique, and to pick up tricks and tips from a master smith. Practicing the forms is how you get good, so come back for a day's workout to hone your skills.
